The UNISDR Science and Technology Conference on the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 will take place on 27-29 January 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland. IAP - the global network of science academies acts as one of the co-organisers.
The full diversity of the science and technology community, policy makers, practitioners and researchers from all geographical regions, at local, national, regional and  international levels who support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, are invited to submit abstracts for posters for the Conference by 30 November  2015. Online registration for the event is also open until 31 December 2015. 

UNISDR GenevaYoung scientists, especially those who participated in the World Science Forum recently in Budapest and had a chance to interact with Dr. Virigina Murray, Consultant in Global Disaster Risk Reduction at Public Health England, are particularly welcome to participate, with support from national science academies.

Dr. R.B. Singh, Vice President of the International Geographical Union (IGU), nominated to the IAP working group on Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as Prof. Antonio Sgamellotti, Member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, and Dr. Peter McGrath, Coordinator, representing IAP, are among the participants at the event.
