Empowering Refugee Women in STEM: OWSD offers fully-funded Master's scholarships to refugee women scientists in Jordan

The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) announces the opening of the Call for Applications for OWSD's new scholarship for refugee women scientists, the Women in Science Displacement Outreach Master's Program (OWSD WISDOM).

In this first round of the scholarship programme, OWSD offers fully-funded master's degree scholarships in the natural, engineering, information and technology sciences for women refugees at Hashemite University in Jordan.

OWSD Wisdom call

Fellows will receive:

  • Monthly living allowance to cover all costs for board and lodging
  • Personal Support Allowance
  • Health Insurance
  • Residence/permit and related documentation costs
  • Travel allowance to covers costs to and from the host institute
  • Termination/completion allowance
  • Students network building activities


Eligibility

The OWSD WISDOM scholarships are offered to refugee women candidates pursuing master’s degrees in the natural, engineering, information, and technology sciences (STEM fields). Candidates must:

  • be a holder of UNHCR Asylum Seeker Certificate (ASC) or a Jordanian Ministry of Interior Card for Syrian refugees (MOI card)
  • hold a bachelor’s degree from an academic and/or research institution (including international research centers)
  • be a national of an eligible country
