Biography

Finarya Legoh has been working at Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) since 2019, as Head of International Relation & Funding. In 2022 she was The Secretary of Science20 Indonesia Presidency. She is a senior lecturer at Faculty of Engineering University of Indonesia, for building technology and sustainable architecture. Her expertise is Sustainable Architecture Science & Technology, gained PhD in Applied Acoustics from University of Salford, UK.

Since 2020, she worked as Senior Program Officer at Indonesian Science Funds (DIPI); as Senior Officer at Southeast Asia – Europe Join Funding Scheme (SEA-EU JFS) Secretariat; as member of working group of Southeast Asia Science Advice Network (SEA SAN).  

In 2022-2023, Finarya Legoh was the committee at program study of Addressing Inaccurate and Misleading Information about Biological Threats through Scientific Collaboration and Communication, organized by NAS (National Academy of Sciences, USA).  

Since 2019 she is member of SHARE Communication Committee (Science, Health, Agriculture, Risk and Environment) within AASSA (Association of Academies & Societies of Sciences in Asia); in 2021 was selected as Chairperson. Focus: open access, science literacy, addressing inaccurate and mislead information.

She worked at the Agency for Assessment & Application of Technology (BPPT) in various research & management (1982-1999), then 2012-2019 as Principal Engineer. From 1999 to 2012 she worked at the Ministry of Research and Technology, Indonesia - leaders in policy of disseminating & communicating S&T to public, industry and stakeholders, and advisor & trainer for researchers. Her working experience, accompanied by many trainings and experience built her expertise as science communicator, R&D policy & management, and as advisor and trainer for researchers.
