Biography

Marcelo Wolff is an internist and infectious disease physician, graduated from the University of Chile School of Medicine, trained both in Chile and the USA. His professional career has been carried out in his medical school, where he became full professor in 2005, and a university affiliated public hospital. He is one of the founders and president of Arriaran Foundation, the first and largest HIV care center in Chile. He is in charge of the U. of Chile infectious disease training program since its start. His research has been mainly in HIV disease and has participated in many academic international cooperative clinical trials. He received the “First Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Award 2012” award from the American College of Physicians, and received the denomination of Master of Infectious Diseases from the Chilean Infectious Disease Society in 2014 and became full member of the Chilean Academy of Medicine in 2015. He has authored/coauthored a little more than 100 papers in peer reviewed journals.
